In Summer 2007, the US Green Building Council (USGBC) announced its LEED^® for Homes pilot program and invited Canadian home builders to participate. Today, more than 50 Canadian builders are involved in the initiative. This group of home builders are also collaborating with the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC), through a national case study program, to develop the LEED® Canada for Homes rating system to be launched in Spring 2009.

The CaGBC Case Study Program concluded in May 2008. Findings from this study will be integrated into the development of the LEED Canada for Homes program to be announced in spring 2009.

Home builders are invited to contribute to the development of the LEED Canada for Homes rating system. Become a member of the CaGBC's online "virtual community" and provide your comments before Friday, July 18, 2008.
