September 04
SAIT Campus, 1301 16th Avenue NW, Calgary, AB

LEED® from Homes January 2008 (LEED for Homes) is a comprehensive,
voluntary, market-driven green building rating system for residential
construction. It evaluates performance on a range of ecological and human
health issues from a whole home perspective, providing a definitive
benchmark for what constitutes ‘a green home.’

LEED for Homes recognizes homes that incorporate design, and
construction practices that combine healthy, high quality and highperformance
systems and materials with reduced environmental impacts.
Understanding LEED for Homes is an important step towards reducing
environmental impacts and achieving superior economic performance in
home construction. This intensive, one-day workshop provides a program
overview of the LEED for Homes from the USGBC.
