Catherine Nickerson graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Interior Design and Master of Architecture degree in 1980 and 1987 respectively. As a registered Architect, Interior Designer (1980-2000) and LEED® Accredited Professional, she possesses more than 25 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of commercial real estate projects for both private and public sector clients. Catherine has worked with Accommodation and Real Estate Services (formerly BC Buildings Corporation), a division of Shared Services BC, Ministry of Labour and Citizens’ Services since 1993, where she is currently the Executive Director of the Development Services Branch.

In 2006, Catherine was elected as a Director of the Board for the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). Today, she serves as a Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the LEED® for Construction Development Task Force which is responsible to oversee the adaptation of LEED® for New Construction and Commercial Interiors as part of the LEED® Canada Initiative.
