What is prescriptive continuing education?

Enrolling in prescriptive continuing education allows existing LEED APs to upgrade their credential to LEED AP with specialty (for BD+C, O+M, ID+C). Prescriptive education requires LEED APs to complete a minimum number of continuing education hours on specific topics over an initial 2-year period.

The minimum hours that are part of this prescriptive education ensure that the LEED APs have completed education that mirrors the level of knowledge required to pass one or more specialty exams.

Below are the minimum CE-hour requirements in various subject categories for each type of LEED AP. However, these minimums amount to only 24 hours so six (6) additional CE hours must be earned and can come from any category. Six (6) of the 30 hours must be LEED specific.
