What if I’m not sure whether I want to upgrade?
Enrolling now in prescriptive education preserves your options and has no risk – you have two years to earn the required CE hours. If you choose not to fulfill the requirements, your credential will lapse back to LEED AP, and you will have lost nothing.
If you wait until after October 27, 2011, you cannot use continuing education to upgrade your credential. To become a LEED AP with specialty you would have to:
- Apply for the exams, meet eligibility requirements and pay the application fee
- Pass both the Green Associate and specialty exams and pay exam fees
